Engine and gearbox are out in one piece, i'm glad i did it this way after all!

To remove the engine i had a rope around the front snub/alt bracket, and another rope around the bell housing. Once i had the tension right i was able to lift it out with ease.

The tricky part was finding a way to support the engine while separating the gearbox. I ended up setting the engine down on wooden blocks and moved the rope from the bellhousing onto the sump. From there i could use the engine lift to tension the ropes and hold it still while i lifted and pulled the gearbox off in one go.

Question for anybody who removed the gearbox on its own, how did you release tension on the procon cables to move the gearbox back?

        Cheers,

        Mark.

I removed the flat bar that's holding the cables and just lifted them up. They were not in tension.
