    1.9TDI tranny or 01E one?

Guys... call me crazy but... Shouldn't the 1.9TDI Audi 80 gearbox resist more torque and having a wider ratio than the one I have on Coupè Quattro (originally with a NM)??? I maybe could have 3 options...

    a) Install the 01E that I already have but that means to adapt the supports and shorter 2.8cm the driveshaft (which is very difficult to be done here cuz nobody wants to cut and balance my driveshaft... ppl are stupids here as you might know).
    b) Buy a Audi 80 TDI Quattro 5spd tranny and put it with my AAN and hoping it can resist a lot more the torque that the NM weaky tranny can take.
    c) Buy a TDI 5spd tranny form a FWD which is a lot more easy to find here, and put all those internals on my stock tranny.

Please COMMENTS and RECOMMENDATIONS!!!! thanks guys!

yeah... much wider ratios, more mileage, and can take more torque (in theory). With my tranny I hit 260kph at the rev.limiter... 100kph@3200rpm... it's too short damm it :S:S:S and I could break it at any time

There is 01A based gearbox on the Audi A4 with quattro and 19TDi engine, but as said - not on Audi 80 - which is a pity.

The 2.5TDi quattros have 01E gearbox.

You need to check ratios carefully though on these diesel boxes - not all are good this idea.

a 4kQ driveshaft is the required length shorter for this 01E swap into the coupe/S2 body. its how i did mine...

Yes, I was told before by P.Nànàssy about the Typ85 driveshaft , I did look over loooooots of junk yards over here and having negative results... neither pieces of the typ89 coupe Well in that case Error, I might follow what you said! hehe Today I had bad news, I can't make legal the AAN under my car, so I'm making some serious decisions before taking that risk. Hopefully I'll move to Spain next year anyway but it's still being a risk. Don't know what to do yet

if you cant legally in italy change the engine, why dont you import a s2 from an other european country.
italy sounds more bureaucratic than the uk

Well... I did something very very WRONG... cutted the oem harness... so now I can't put the engine back...and I only have the block and pistons of it
hehe I'd really like to do it (except that i need those extra 2,000euros for the documents, all the trip back home, food,...), an S2 here costs OVER 5K euros even in barely conditions (3B, you can immagine a ABY), so remains me one only way... a S6 that are between 3K and 5K euros. And believe me italy is the most bureocratic country in the UE! That is because I want to leave ASAP
