Ur Gearbox

Hello all im looking at getting an AUDI UR QUATTRO . I was just wondering if it is possible to fit a 6speed gearbox out of a S2 coupe onto the 10v turbo engine that is already fitted to the car? And as i am new to audi's and there products could someone please shed some light onto what the differential swith in the centre console does? It has position 1 and 2 what does this do? Does it switch it from 2 to 4 wheel drive or does it just lock and unlock the rear diff? Cheers Anthony.

Position 1 locks the centre diff, position 2 locks the rear diff as well. Car is full time 4wd.

I've heard that fitting the 6-sp box to a 10v isn't a simple task. Much better to transplant the whole S2 engine/box if you want to change it that much.

no prob to fit a 6tr tranny in any 5/6/8syl car..,some hav the prob with the xmember under trannys, and some have the trouble with the propshafts( may need 2pc right handet) and you need the the 6tr trannys shiftstick.... the flyweel and clutch thing,what clutch do you need,or
use the 6tr trannys after 95 please....and check out for the ratio.... do not use the s4 tranny CBL....
