Sachs clutch - where to buy

Now that I'm unemployed (or nearly) I'm being lazy Where can I get the Sachs race clutch for a 3B FW cheapest? Don't mind getting it from Germany etc. It comes recommended in ...707 and sintered form.

    Cheers

I just phoned sachs and they say that it is not listed for the s2 anymore, however if anyone has the numbers on the clutch then they can identify if that clutch is still manufactured for another car or not.
Ap racing dont make one, helix do but demon tweeks want £505 for that one. Apparantly German abd swedish say they can get one next day from sachs for £200. I wonder if they can?

                    Sachs part numbers:-

                    Pressure plate - 883082 999707
                    Sintered friction plate - 881861 999809
                    Organic friction plate - 881861 999802
                    • JKM Motor Services have quoted me £495+VAT for the organic item and £475 for the sintered item, delivery is £10. Thus between £550 and £600 ish
                    • I got a quote of about £500 from Helix for their race / rally clutch.
                    • Have emailed Clutchnet this eve, expect a reply next week.
                    • Aelred mentioned he can get a 3B one remanufactured for less than the prices above to any spec.

Loads of options but bloomin' expensive, guess you can't do without

Next decision is organic or sintered. I don't fancy a digital clutch for daily driving, then again I don't fancy one that slips... D'oh!

Looking like mr. Smith is the best option at the mo...

I am amazed at the prices, but as long as it can deal with at least 450lbs of torque then I am good, dont want to build up muscles in my right legs though so must feel ok in traffic. Whats the difference between sintered or organic? The Helix clutch is only good for a 25% increase in power so that about 60 - 70 bhp so anything over 300bhp and you will need a new clutch. Aelred say he can do one cheaper? What spec etc, sounds interesting.

Aelred can get them re-manufactured to individual spec. from what I understand, you'll need to get a quote from him. You will need to supply one to get remanufactured tho.

For your typ 85 get an OE one, 1200kg is a lot less than any S2 , 300bhp will be plenty in it for a bit and the OE clutch will take RS2 spec.

I would prefer to take the clutch in mine out, it's an OE VAG one and has done <1k miles so dont' really want to get it remanufactured as I'd like to sell it on. Price new was approaching £200, was a mistake but budget dicatated it at the time and I was in a rush to get it sorted...

Well I need a 3b clutch and flywheel to replace my aby ones. So I do have a clutch and flywheel , but I have heard that a 3b flywheel wont match up to a aby clutch so therefore I need both.

Yeah, I did it 2 years ago, have a search. Yeah, you need both.
