    RWD gearbox

it comes up every so often about rwd in a s2
and iv been thinking, the VW lt van is rwd and some them have a the 2.5 5 the same as the c4
so im guessing the bell housing pattern would be correct, youd get weight saving and be able mounts all backwards a bit more

also im thinking about a 10v lotus 7 replica atm

i know the idea welding the c-diff is possible, but weight saving was what i was thinking as well as reduced rotational mass in the transmission

if the engine are in front( 5pot) use the bellhousing from a VOLVO d24 ( 6pot diesel) in 240 and 740, then use adapter for the bmw between the tranny and bellhousing... then bmw tranny with loose bellhousing...or you may use the volvo m45/46/47 tranny direct
if you have the engine in the back( center) so you may use the 2wd tranny from audi, or the porsche 924( its a audi tranny)

oh volvo gearbox sounds good idea, or even the bellhousing on a bmw

i had been thinking, 924 bell-adaptor-ford type9 would been good enough for the 10v, but using a tougher gearbox would be good idea as in time i think id fit a 20v and ecu

you can completely remove the front differential and just lock centre diff to get RWD, use the older 016 transmission from a Coupe Quattro or audi 80 quattro etc.... very tough unit.

use a front wheel drive box and make a torque tube, use the linkage from a later porsche boxster with a getrab gearbox

space is a constraint for a lotus 7 and that idea, i have been thinking of a 924 turbo torque tube and gearbox would fit and is fairly cheap to buy, but not sure what do weight distro
in a s2 torque would be perfect for getting more weight to the back and less from the front, is enough space for a effectually over sized diff in back a 89q chassis is thing with out cutting
