    clutch is fitted at last!

After a small problem with the fluid reservoir braking (thanks Dad for the Skoda one, why he had it I dont know!)
Clutch doesn t seem any heavier, in fact it seems better than the LUK clutch.
Spoken to a few people about running in and they said they d never heard of running clutches in.
Any more opinions on these kevlar clutches?
I really want to take it to Lichfield on Saturday now and at last exploit the power it feels it has.

I think it's a Kestrel one? About £350 if it is.

You dont need to bed in clutches, BUT metalic clutches has some time before they are up to there fully potential as the metal has to adapt to each other (a little like brake disc and pads)
          Good luck with it

              its a kestrel one
£350 plus vat n carriage so a good price
I m still going the track day, just driving miss Daisy, it will help with ironing out any other problems as its not a road car so it doesn t get used much.
did think of selling but I doubt anyone would want it, old knacker that it is!

You need to bed in the friction plate to the flywheel (this would of been ground rough) and harden the Kevalar plates

350gbp aint bad, what torque is it rated up to? did you have to supply the old one as an exchange or to remanufacture?
Also what is the pedal feel like, heavy/snappy?

                    drove it at curborough today.
pedfal felt lighter than with the standrad LUK one, until it found a little boost
seemed to go harder after a run ( 50 mph max) then went light again after 5 mins.
can t wiat to get it bedded so i can give it full bore, think it will do the job well
not sure of torque rating, told kestrel about 320 lbs ft and they built to suit ( but i said may go up so bear in mind)
will report back when its run in

Yeah, these are cheaper than a lot of the alternatives. Be interesting to see how you get on...

What is 320lb ft equivalent to in terms of mods. I really want to fool proof my car WRT the clutch up to chipped rs2 spec? Im really tempted by this kestrel clutch, was it a remanufacture service? or new parts? did they skim your FW too?
Will be great to hear how you get on as i have found out that the sachs OEM spec cover plate is now NLA from sachs and there are no stock of the friction plates. A SRE one costs in excess of 500 quid. :0
