can the standard clutch take it?

My question is, what amount of power/torque can the standard clutch on a 5 speed type-85 CQ put up with?

Has anyone got any max bhp/torque figures for it?

The clutch in this CQ is quite new, and works well. but I'm planing on dropping in the 2.5 GTi engineering lump from my last CQ. Is the standard clutch up for the task?

The 2.5 lump makes about 170bhp and 180lbft Torque. Also, I have a schrick 272 camshaft waiting to be fitted that 'SHOULD' theoretically bring maximum power up to 190bhp.

As already stated, the clutch is quite new, so will it do the job? or should i find an uprated clutch?

    cheers.. and thanks in advance,
    Gaz.
