    wrong rear differential

I mean,if the rear differential is not alocated for a tipe of gearbox, what can happend?
Try to use aah v6 gearbox with aan (had cbf auto gearbox) rear differential.

If the transaxle and the rear diff have different ratios, e.g. 4.11:1 and 3.90:1, the result will be KABLOOOEE. Either the transaxle, the torsen or the rear diff will blow up because the wheels will want to turn and different rates and something will have to give.

Seems strange to me,because as i understood the torsen central differential is abble to transfer 75 to 25 to both rear and front.
So,if torsen is transfering 50 to rear and 50 to front,if the rear dif is corect fitted the both front wheel and rear wheels should turn at the same speed.
If the rear dif is other ratio fitted then the rear will have to turn different speed than the front wheels. This not beeing posiible(the same surface of running, the same wheels/tires) the central torsen will have to adapt and adjust the amount of "spining"transfered to rear and font(like in the case of turning).Or he is not so smart.
I 'm not trying to reinvent the electric bulb,i just want to understand it all.
when you sad 4.11 you refered to the:
      Ratios
      Final drive
      Z2 : Z1 = i
      37 : 9 = 4.111

      Thanks

I have a CET code gearbox from an aan v6 engine. This is compatible with an AAT rear differential(i also have it).
The torsen differential of the CET gearbox is broken.
I have seen that AAT rear differential is also compatible with:CBD,CBL,CET(that i have),CMG,DPG,DPH,DPM gearbox codes.

The question is:can i put a torsen gearbox differential from any of the codes of gearboxes compatible with AAT rear differential or ONLY from a CET gearbox??

you have to match the front and rear diff ratios, PERIOD.

            they do not work otherwise.....

i welded my center torsen solid for my drag car. and for rolling it around i had 14" on the rear and 15" on the front because of the G60 brakes.

well i put the driveshaft in and could no longer move the car, because of the difference in tire size.

you just cannot change the rate to which they turn if not matched things will blow up. PERIOD.

i do not know what gear is in what part you listed, but you have to match the ratio of the front R&P and the ratio of the rear diff R&P.

            no other way about it.

the torsen diff modulates power delivery from front to rear, but cannot compensate for off size tires or different gears in the diff.

I found the answer...I need to buy a torsen and i asked what gearbox code fits the same torsen...

Thank you for the ratio(but the seller does not know anything about ratio,i don't)but this will help.SO:
