Auto Gearbox expert needed

I am away to look at a Audi 100 2.6 V6 Auto that has a issue with the autobox

Problem is that is will only go as far as first gear and wont select higher gear ...will go into reverse no problem

Going to plug in VAG.com and see if it brings anything up ..off the top of my head it might be ECU issue?..the fluid is fine in the box...somebody has mentioned that might be contacts on stick?

Have the gearchanges not been so smooth recently? Sometimes a worn band can cause rough gearchanges and even to the point where it won't engage gear.

I'm no expert but I've read about this problem with the A4 2.4 V6.

Vag-com (VCDS) should be able to find fault codes if those are present. I had same thing happen with my 2.8 v6 auto, when a fuse blew and "multifunktion switch" lost power and threw fault code. That fault code needs to be cleared after fuse change or tranny will stay in "safe mode"
