    034 Diff Mounts

Has anybody used any of 034's Diff mounts?

As we were trying to push the mount in it cracked the housing, this was after making the chamfer greater and lubricating the mount. It seems the mount is too large for the housing. Has anybody else had problems? The guy that was fitting it has put lot's of these in without any problems.

It would good if somebody has an original mount that could have a little measure up and let me know the OD so I can compare it to the 034 piece.

    Thanks

IIRC Terrybullwon had this issue, not sure if it was with an 034 bush though....

Theres plenty of people had the same issues. Seems 034 erred on the side of its better to be too big than too small and not fit. Search motorgeek, theres peeps on there who have had them turned down a little to make them fit.

Question: Why are people ordering the 034 when the powerflex one fits?

Personally it's a mod I wouldn't do and would say buy new rubber instead

034 one is solid, HD poly, there is no "give" in it at all, the powerflex one is a little softer and does actually flex and absorb some vibration, so there's a difference there.

Just had a look, according to etka the bush is 64.4mm OD, hope that helps.

Thanks for the measurement, I might have to turn the 034 bush down!

Softer? have you actually fitted or had this bush in hand. It is rock solid!

Yup, ive had both, the 034 one is definitely harder than the powerflex one. Maybe softer isnt the best word, but you can squeeze the powerflex bush in on itself without the insert in it, and it has voids. The 034 one is solid and stiffer....

It broke mine. None too happy about the poor fitment.

I've got a powerflex one and it was a perfect fit in the housing but really tight between the subframe brackets, its much better than an original imo but it definately isnt rock solid

I dont know about them being the same, but they are deffinitley interchangable. The bush itself without the housing is partnumber 171199214D, which is listed for the Urq as the diff on those cars do not have a removeable rear mount. The bush is the same as the side engine mount on a MK1 golf.
The part number listed for the type 89 cars is 895599125 which is complete with the housing, and about £80 from the stealers.

Solid one might be a nice option.
