    Ur-S6 Auto Questions

    Evening all...

Right, the car has 174k on the clock and drives pretty much like its new. Auto shifts OK but it seems a little slow on kick down at times.

I do not know if this is the way it should be as its hard to compare as I have little experiance of the auto in the Audi.

Now it could be just a little old or need a fluid change, or perhaps its 100% OK and I am expecting too much.

I just feel at times when I slam the throttle say when doing 30 or 40 that it should kick down harder, not just to 4000rpm. Saying that at higher speeds say 60 odd it does kick down to higher revs.

Perhaps its only 4 speed and there is only so much it can do?

I would welcome feedback from C4 S4/S6 auto drivers that have done a few more miles than me.

Doing a little more homework on this and some discussion with other wise members my N75/ WGCV may not be as well as it should.

I will pick up another one and top up the Ribena in the car over the coming weeks to see if that brings a little bit more life to it.

30-40 being km/h? On other thought not that it matters that much.

It's down to it being 4 speed box, and it's ecu not wanting to change gear needlessly down and accelerate "slower" when it can just drop one gear down and have 4000rpm when dropping down 2 would put it almost at or at redline.
All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.
