I Know you can definately fit the CGR gearbox from the ABY onto the 7A AEC rear diff. As i have this on my car. The RS2 box will also fit, not sure about the box from an AAN though? whether its the same as the CGR????

The 01A/01E boxes are all 4.11 final drive so the rear diffs can be swapped about no problems. The one to look out for is the 016, from the ur quattros , which are 3.89 final drive.

That's not quite correct, there is if I remember correctly an 01E that has a 4.375 final drive , this is the box from the Allroad .

Yes, and also 80/Coupes with v6 have 3,89 final drive.

The CBL box will work but don't forget the CBL box from the AAN engined cars will not have the right shift linkage or gearbox mounts and they are both hard to get hold of on there own
