        how have you broken it?

you can replace the torsen unit or the whole gearbox with a good used one

broke as a mechanic went on a Dynamometer.

the problem is to get these parts here in Brazil, so I needed to know if there is something that can be replaced or done in place

around and easy to achieve this differential?

no. replacement parts for the Torsen are not available AFAIK. You can fit a replacement torsen diff pretty easily.
My advice is find a new mechanic

PM Jonnybravo (member on s2forum) he might have a Torsen diff from an 01E gearbox for you

If it`s a trackday car only you might want to just weld it up and have a true 50/50 split on the track. You can use pretty much any torsen diff from another car as long as the transmission it came from has the same "chassis" size as yours. ie 01E, 01A etc. ( some might even be interchangable, but you would have to look into that ).
Now you see me, now you don`t

I was thinking about doing it, weld , which would be more trouble walking on the street too?

weld it. and not any harder driving on the street that i can see. if you locked the rear diff, then you will scrub tires on cornering, etc. it "may" do different stuff on a road course, but for a drag car no problem. we have these all over here in USA....

I understand that, if welding only serves to put in drag car, right?

to walk on the street will break the differential soldier is that?

Welcome! Sorry to hear you have broken your diff!

If you use the car on the road, then welding up the diff is not much use for you. I would try to get a used diff, or complete gearbox from someone on the forum - like johnny bravo etc and get it shipped to you.

If you weld the diff, you will get 'wind up' where the wheels on the front axle need to do a different speed to the ones on the rear but the cannot. It would he horrible to drive on the road.

                          thank you very much.

one more doubt, what do you think would be horrible to drive the car on the street with welded diff? what I would consider bad? have not got it right.

What happens is, every little while, especially when cornering, the car/transmission will 'jump' to allow the wheels to line up again. It will put incredible strain on the drivetrain too.

If you think of it this way...

jack the car up and line the wheels up so all the valves are at the top, drive a hundred meters or so, then get out and look at the wheels, they will not all be in the same place because each wheel has a slightly different rolling circumference which means each wheel has to turn a different amount to do the same distance.

With the diff welded, the wheels are forced to do the exact same number of turns. So say your front wheel needs to do 10 turns to do a distance, and the rear 11 turns, after say 5 turns of the wheels there will be a big BANG as everything lines up again because the rear wheel has wanted to do 5.5 turns but has only be allowed to do 5.

                            I hope this helps!
