    Propshaft Centre Bearing replacement?

I have just had the centre bearing replaced on my 1996 A6 TDI Quattro (C4). The rubber holding the centre bearing was gone, leading to alot of noise. The guy at my garage said the new bearing (034M) was different and he had to space the new bearing/carrier out from the chassis. There is now a vibration at high speed and a whinning noise on/off throttle on the motorway. Just wondering if anyone has the correct procedure to set the proshaft alignment or a simply guide to check, i know you need specialist tools to do it correctly. Alot of the guides on here just say about keeping it straight.

    Thanks

The shift itself might not be lined up right as I was talking to GT500 about this on sat. It needs to be true by what he was saying well spot on!
Just some finishing touches to do now

yep, common if they are not straight - know from experience and yet to sort mine out. there is a VAG tool for doing this properly but essentially it needs to be sat correctly then ensure that its in the middle rather than all the way down one cv or another as you will get noise and shunt.

Take it back and get them to square it up

Cheers for the replys. I got the part myself direct from 034 motorsport. He said there were differences in the bearing when he changed it, so just tried to copy the OEM one.
So if I just get him to make sure it straight, with no weight sitting on the bearing.
