    S2 driveshafts, quick reply needed

I have a few driveshafts and stupidly I didn't mark them as front or rears

It looks as if one end runs slightly longer shafts as 2 are maybe an inch longer at the most and also have a slight lip in the shaft itself where as the other 2 don't

Also are Avant and Coupe shafts ALL the same

A quick reply would be appreciated as someone has asked for a pair of shafts and I obviously do not want to send out the wrong ones !

    Thanks

One side of the car has shorter driveshafts, from what i've read on here its the passenger side but from my own experience of working on the cab i'd have guessed its the drivers side.

no avant rears are completely different.

One side ? or each end ?

I'm going to pop down the unit to check as these are defintely a pair from the same end, I just don't know what end lol

Fronts are identical though yeh ?

yeah fronts are, rears are not. iirc each end there is a shorter shaft on one side so two per car.

Well if thats right then someone obviously hasn't fitted the pair I sent them as I am 99% sure the 2 I sold were identical in length.

I'm going down there now to double check !

There are some old threads on here that say about the lengths of the driveshafts.

Its quicker to drive down the road and check lol

Whats weird is that as far as I can tell the rear diff is centrally mounted thus meaning the rear shafts are ( or atleast look like they are also) equal.

Give me an hour and I'll have that answer

If its same setup as Typ85 then they are offset... O/S/R and N/S/F are longer.
