Is it possible to put 6th gear in 5speed 01E tranny?

Hi.

I have an CBD 01E transmission from urs4, and wonder is it possible to put this: http://www.jhmotorsports.com/shop/ca...peed-p-45.html kit in my transmission? hmm.

Someone expert on 01E?

Have recently overhauled the tranny so im qualified to do this mod, but i wonder about if its possible.. ?

Answer to myself, yes it is possible..

I have to get 22, 23 25 og 26.

The 22 i a little spacer ring that we can get everywhere, or VWAUDI shop.
The 23 is a needle bearing, its only from 01E trans. mybe buy it from VWAUDi shop too.
25 and 26 is from nearly all Audi trans. 01A and 01E is same ****.

Everything else is the same on 5 spd and 6 spd.


This one is a nice one.
just punt in the 22 6. gear and cut the 23 into the length of 24, and thats all!!!



This is the toughest mod, 1 and 2 on the picture is different between 6 and 5 speed trans. I think the number 1on the picture is possible to modify to 6speed part, but i am not sure om the number 2 on the picture.




The Spacering you have to cut is the one on this picture, its between 6th gear part 2 and 5. gear part 2





You also have to remove a spacering but that is easy.

why not just fit the 6spd box wholesale?

Because the 6 spd box is expensive here in norway. About 10000nok -> 1700 dollar. And the s6/s4 6spd box have an cheap 6. gear. 0.73 or something. I want to reach 300km/t on my typ85

You will also need shifter drum, but the gear spacing will be odd, like 1-0.73 in 5.
and 1-0.71 in 6. almost the same perhaps better to use dsy 6. i think 1-0.68, or tdi ?
