Gear Shift Kits (034) - Which one, if any? + Lots more Qs

I want to apologise about this post from the outset, this post just got bigger and bigger, anyway see what you think of the questions, rather than whether it is not in line with on line protocol, which it probably isn't.

It's is certainly bigger than the title.

1). Which one of the two items below is the better one for an ABY Avant?

Has anyone fitted either, and if do can you please advise or comment?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis...kit-p-336.html

    http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis...s-p-13999.html

2). This one directly below, can someone explain to me where this one is fitted in the gear linkage? and again is it useful? tia.

    http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis...a-p-20049.html

3). I presume this downpipe does not fit a euro B4 Avant ABY/ADU?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...rbo-p-504.html

4). I might as well ask all of the questions that were playing on my mind? What do people think of these?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...20v-p-775.html

5). With the S2 and the RS MAF being very similar, has anyone thought of making and selling the RS2 screens on other ends of the RS2 MAF to all the owners with S2 MAFs? Or is the difference not work the effort? Just wondering why Porsche bothered?

6). Presume these two camshaft items are only for people who wanted to custom map their car, rather than the people on a lesser financial budget / lesser bhp target? Was only thinking about them for moving the power-band down and getting an earlier spool or am I clutching at straws in the dark?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...s-p-19791.html

    http://www.034motorsport.com/fuel-in...nce-p-100.html

7). Whats the diiference beteween these two tyopes of injectiors for either a std RS2 or a chipped one to say 380bhp?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/fuel-in...nce-p-100.html

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...set-p-369.html

8). What's the oem part number of the RS2 metal head gasket that should be used on all RS2 ADUs and also on S2 ABYs when the head is off for any reason?

9). Which ones spools faster all things being equal?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...set-p-369.html

    or the std RS2 turbo?

10). Do Precision or Comp do small ones like a 2871 or an RS2?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/turboch...l-p-20077.html

11). What's this and where does it go and why would one use it?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/turboch...agm-p-143.html

12). I presume there's no real advantage to this fuel rail over a standard one for normal engined cars?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/fuel-in...rail-p-30.html

13). Is this brake bracket any use to members over here with Avants that want 300mm rear discs and brakes, ideally cheap and second hand?

    http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis...de-p-1146.html

14). Does anyone know what this one is for on the Ulitmot site for S2s?

Go to "Shop" on the LHS of the screen(last in the list), choose - "AUDI", then "S2" and the third choice automatically comes up as "All Models". Then the third item down on the list, "BAXXX". It is some sort of brake bracket. What is it used for on our cars?

Sorry couldn't find a direct link for it.

I'll stop now, before I'm banned for a month.

    Kind regards.

David, there was less research put into the 1st space shuttle

John Reavey has the JDM short shift fitted, very firm gear shift.

When I asked before on here the consensus was to fit the metal head gasket if the head was ever off. And also to fit the ARP studs if you intended to remove the head again in the future as they are reusable.

I'll leave the rest of the questions to those in the know, now where is that ?

      Shane,

Good start to a tough first post.

Thanks for replies, looking forward to the third, Wednesday. Lot of queries to be discussed, and that's just me, lol.

RPM is right, we need to get a bright car park and a warm inside. The regular meet would be a good idea, hopefully we can sustain it, but we should try it none the less.

      Kind regards.

For the headgasket you can apparently get the RS2 spec metal one from GSF rather than the 034 one.

I've seen on the ultimot site the funny shaped bracket that allows you to keep the original brake caliper only with a larger diameter brake disc.

Yes, but what size disc and from what car?

034 is excellent for certain items not available elsewhere, and as a reference for our cars, but with local tax and courier charges as well as some of their prices, for myself it is more for the folks over there, imho.

What's the gsf part number as they can't always assist when you visit them in Dublin.

            HA is Rear Axle
            VA is Front Axle

This is what you're after BK020. I don't know what the brake disc is off.

            Google translation:

This high-quality set is the standard 245 mm rear axle on all Audi S2 without any additional work to a powerful and attractive large 302 mm brake upgraded. The particular advantage of our kits is that the standard brake calipers are still used. This saves money and allows our best offer on a technically very high level. Includes all necessary parts: adapter, perforated brake discs 302x11 mm, and small parts. Optionally we supply steel braided brake lines and matching PORSCHE / TEXTAR coverings. An authorization may be made by individual acceptance - an ABE can not be created with these high quality components in the proposed budget. It can be moved from 16-inch wheels - please ensure space in the rim before buying.

Haven't a clue on the GSF part number.

Hi David, take a run in the coupe on Wednesday to see what you make of the solid shifter from 034. Maybe not evenyones cup of tea but I am happy with it and certainly better than a worn OEM item!!! See you on the 3rd all goiing well.
