    Flywheel pins

Right guys,in need of your expert knowledge.
Basically my 7a flywheel is at the machine shop having a skim, they are taking the pins out of the friction side of the flywheel (obviously so they can skim it),my question is are
these pins needed for anything,i swear i read somewhere that they weren't
Are the cps/rpm signals taken from the teeth/pin on the engine side of the flywheel?
    If that makes any sense
Just want to know if i need to replace them or not.
    TIA,Adam.

There are 2off long pins on the friction side, these are not used. Ths sensors on the side of the bellhousing pick up on the short pin on the opposite side and the teeth for the starter motor.

There are two pins about 30mm > for checking the ign. time at , factory, but no need.
The 3 pins ~10mm want fitt the clutchplate, these are needed !!!

On the Engine side the 10mm pin is for ecu ign.time signal> must needed

-Actually does any one know a part number for the three alignment pins?

You don't need the 2 longer pins...

The PN for the 3 alignment pins (aka "dowel pin") is N 013 210 2

These pins are common to many Audi flywheels, e.g. for the KV,NG,7A,3B,ABY,AAR,AAN and ADU engines with stock flywheels.
