Is there only ONE genuine Clutch Master Cylinder part number, or are there different ones? I know when I nearly bought a brake bomb, there were two different types!Comment

Can I bleed it somehow? Is this why there is some fluid on the rubber gaiter if the master cylinder?[/QUOTE]
No, if the master cylinder is leaking it will only get whose, Bleeding will probably not last long till it loses presure again, but worth a try you could get luckyRS 2 580HPComment

guess we're in the same boat.mine does this every once in awhile as well. but the car normally sits for long periods of time.
i pump it a whole bunch of times, and it seems to correct itself. then out of the blue, its on the floor.
it did it a couple times, then i jumped in to move the car and it was fine.

Bad Clutch
So is there a couple of bolts holding the thing on? When I unbolt it, will it pour brake fluid all over my footwell?
Does the clutch use the same fluid from the same fluid reservoir as the brakes?
Is there anything I should know before doing it?
Is the Bleed Screw on the transmission side or on the top or where?
This sounds like a nightmare?Comment

It's a pain, mainly because, unless you've seen it, you'll have to do it by feel.
It's held in by a pin that needs to be pushed out with a drift. This is usually in pretty tight with corrosion.
The system shares fluid, there's a take-off from the brake reservoir that feeds the clutch system, be careful to keep it all topped up when bleeding.
Yes, make sure you've got your patient hat on.
Bleed screw is just under the linkage, below the ABS unit.
Yes, it's not the easiest job to do but then needs must...Cheers'en, AndyC

Im going to order a clutch master cylinder today, as the cylinder above my clutch pedal has what looks like brake fluid dripping/wetness around the rubber boot of its mechanism.
Do you think I am doing the right thing, and it would make sense to do this and not the slave cylinder on the transmission?Comment

Has anyone got a photo / microfische of where and what the Clutch Bleed Screw looks like?
I have had a look at my Audi RS2 Workshop Manual, and it does not even mention the Clutch or Transmission at all !!!! Typical!Comment

I was looking at threads about that too, but my Master Cylinder above the Clutch pedal is leaking?
Ive Tried Euro Car Parts, GSF and Main Dealers, nobody can get me the part today! Any ideas?Comment
