    Flywheel question S2 single mass

I found an interesting flywheel in my shed today. Compared it to my S2 3B flywheel and the differences are small.
The 2 differences I noticed are: the bearing on this flywheel is hold with a circlip and at the back there is more material than on the 3B one, but if it's skimmed than it has exact the same height as the 3B one.
To me it seems like this one could be lightened and then be perfectly usable for a S2.

    What do you think?

Yes, it looks like a 7A flywheel and if so it can be done, I have done this many times to make a 3B spec flywheel .

Skimming the extra lump of material off my 7A flywheel got the weight down to 10.45Kg

nice, will sell one of them then. I quite like the idea of easy install and removing of the bearing, wonder why the 3B doesn't have it like that.

I don't see a crank position reference pin (the one at 8 o'clock in the photo on the left). Make sure it has one (should be on the non-clutch side)

there are crank position reference points in both of them.

both pins situated at around 2 o clock on the 2nd photo. Pins are tiny when compared to the dual mass pin, which is what caused my VEMS issues at the time as well.

This drawing is labelled wrong in my opinion . The front of the flywheel is the clutch face to me.

The rear is the bit that faces the engine with the timing pin to me.

^ this man is right. Although I didn't know what the pin was for, thx.

Seems to be only on the dual mass where they have the big lump instead of a pin
