    A3 1.8t Sport Quattro 1999 (haldex )

    Hi guys
Having problem sorting haldex four wheel drive out, just scanned with vag405 reader and it picked up AWD Controller fault ( J492 ) after investigation of wiring first, i looked at the 7 pin plug under the car and it was all rotton and fell to bits, my problem now after lots of googling is that i cannot seem to find a detailed wiring diagram of the connector. I would simply joint all the wires together instead of the plug but my problem is the wiring from inside the boot is different colours to the wires from the Haldex Controller??? any help with a wiring colour diagram would greatly be appreciated. ( Sorry its Not S2 but i still have mine, this is my missus car )
    Regards David.

you can buy a new connector and all the wiring from audi you need to splice it all into the existing wiring, will take them ages to find it all though probably.Cost is about £45,i may have a receipt kicking around with the part numbers on if its any use i can have a look for it

I have repaired a couple of s3s with the same problem by cutting out all the bad wiring and using crimp connectors to join it back up,havnt had any problems since

Also check the earth strap from the diff to body, good chance that has rotten away aswell. If it is snapped be careful when removing it off the body as it can rip a hole in the body of the car btdt
