5 or 6 speed 01E? Need advice

I'm sourcing an 01E trans to put in my 200 20v this summer. I have two options and would like some quick advice on what to do.

Option 1: $1400 shipped to my house

Rebuilt 5 speed with these ratios:
3.50 first
1.89 second
1.27 third
.97 fourth
.73 5th

Wide first conversion
Cryo/WPC-treated mainshaft
Cryo/WPC-treated first and 2nd gear
Front Torsen
Center high-bias Torsen (like Stasis)

Option 2:

6 speed 01E from B5 S4. Typical broken 1-2 slider. $500 shipped.

Buy rebuild kit for $900 and rebuild myself.

The price comes out the same. Is the high bias center torsen and front torsen going to be worth it over having the 6th gear?

ha, I know. I did look on car-part BUT the problem is that those are over $1k and aren't new. The two options I have listed above would be good, new trans for around $1400 when all is said and done!

you can add the 6th gear to 5 speed 01E, Perfect for autobahn cruising would be 0.6 ratio 6th gear from transmissions FPN,FRL,GBA. Next best is 0.56 ratio from 2.5 Diesel or 0.68 from V8 cars.
5 speed 01E boxes have spacer instead of 6th gear, so adding the 6th gear should not be a problem.

Regardless what i said above, i would still take the rebuilt box, just because of the torsens and the fact that this S4 box might have more damage then you initially thought. I'm currently looking at quite damaged 3rd gear from 2000 A4 diesel (DQT). The sharp tips that should help the synchronizing hub to mesh with the gear are far from sharp now, and the synchro is busted. I'm going save this 300€ for now and see how it works out, allthough it should be replaced if done properly.

Even the parts for those torsen-mods cost over 1400$ + assembly job. My choise would be simple...

Exactly. However, I am not saying that it is inexpensive.

The diagram below compares the 5th and 6th gears of the CBD 5 spd and the CBL 6 spd. The key idea is the 5 spd uses a 5th gear and a long spacer while the 6 spd replaces that long spacer with a shorter spacer and the 6th gear. Presumably with that as the basis, as has been pointed out below, adding a 6th gear, e.g. 0.56 to 1 from a diesel to a CBD *might* not be technically difficult. Cost *will* be a factor.

Best why? Only thing I can imagine are the ratios.
Best combination is wide 1st gear and flexible input shaft.

Afaik the wide only came in. The 95.5 urS6. No urS4s had them
