Hellp and advice needed Quattro gearbox

Recently get a AFN 1.9 TDI Quattro gearbox opened it i found out bad surprise


Can somebody help me with advice how to get that bearing off the shaft and where to get new one ????


And second thing can somebody tell me whats missing in this picture ??


How many number 1 rings need to be inside ??
And whats the number 2 in picture ??

To remove the bearing you will need a bearing puller, something like this

there are different sizes, make sure you get one suited to the job. You'll also need to remove the outer race, which will be pressed into the other half of the gearbox. If the bearing is not unique to Audi you should be able to get the numbers off the outer race and a bearing shop should be able to get a replacement. You'll then need a press to press it back on.

Item 2 looks like a shim, there will be a measurement somewhere ( probabley only in the factory manual ) that tells you how many to put in. If in doubt put back what you took out. Item 1 also looks like a shim, would need a close up pic to confirm.

If you not sure about any of the above, I'd take it to a geabox rebuilder and ask them to put it back together for you!
