  • Installing DSY in Avant

Hy, i'm installing a DSY (B5 S4TT) gearbox in my Avant. All looks good only thing i noticed is some space between the shift mechanism. It looks like the mechanism is on the right place so i think i will make a spacer for it. But has anyone have any experiences on this? The shift mechanism i'm attempt to install comes of my Avant 6 speed.

Other thing i noticed is tad the DSY slave cylinder does not fit when the Avant shift mechanism is fitted. If fits okay whit the Avant slave cylinder. So does the S4 B5 has a other shift mechanism?

    Tanks,

    Roy

Yes. You need a spacer on that linkage mounting. That is what I did with mine.
I just used my original 3B slave cylinder.

Ok thats great. I will make a spacer tomorrow.

About the slave cylinder. I think i just buy a new one for the S2 Avant box.
I was planing for braided clutch line so i purchased parts for that as sad in the link. But i noticed i only fits a 5 speed that way

The linkage gets in the way for the 5 speed clutch pipe. I just made up a new one recycling the original fittings, a couple of bent pipes, and a short braided hose. IIRC I just copied the original ABY parts, so yours should be fine.

I made this. So i can connect the ss hose when the box go's in. Will by little bit difficult to bleed the clutch. Anyone know how this is on a original B5 s4? ( I put on a ABY slave cilinder)

Also made a hose for the oil-cooler delete.

I undid the linkage, to give more room when I bled mine. It was no problem.

Will try that. There must by enough room with the procon10 removed

nice how much would cost a Dsy gearbox?
and would the diesel ones suit a mild tuned s2 or would the gear ratios be too long?

Do the DSY ratios suit a chipped S2 Avant ?

                      Thanks.
