    lost clutch and drive?

been tinkering with the v8 and piped up the radiator in the boot which seems to be working well

the car gets driven in and out of the workshop most days but today is the first time its been ran for longer than a couple of minutes.

so up and down where i test cars for bout 10-15mins

parked it up, did some checks, got back in and the clutch goes down to the floor, checked the slave pipe and theres fluid around that area so figured the pipes cracked or split.

put it in gear with the engine off so i can start it and drive back into the workshop, start the engine, no drive either???

clutch is a spec 3,flywheel is a fidanza both were in marc swansons v8 prior to mine so know its not a clearance issue.

any ideas?? gonna take the slave out first, this was new when i put the engine in a few years ago

    cheers
    will

slave cylinder has shat itself, rod had got jammed so clutch was stuck depressed,

assuming this has happened because there is usually a stop underneath the pedal? mine has been stripped out so guessing the pedal has gone past where is should.

would have thought they would of made the stroke of the master cylinder slightly less than the slave?????

or is there another cause for this?

Is very strange to loose the clutch and drive in the same time...
Remove the slave and see what is there....i think that you will find the slave piston out( wich allowed the fluid to leak) and the piston is stuck keeping the pressure plate depressed....
        Just a thought

Exactly what happened mate. Is there a stop on the floor? Can't remember there being one to stop you pushing it too far? Or maybe just cause its been stood for so long

            Is no stop there!
Just press the pedal to the floor.

Clearance!...But this is not explaining why has worked well before...
Remove the slave and check there...

think i might put a little adjustable stop underneath. is the stroke of the mastercylinder shorter than the slave?

as I recall, I had to make a new clutch slave pushrod on my car (longer than stock)for some reason. You may have the same issue? I dont have any measurements written down, but did at least take a pic. I just turned one up quick out of some stainless on the lathe.

the new slave that came has a longer rod, altho now it feels like im hitting something half way, pedal doesnt go all the way to the floor anymore? im thinking my pressure plate might have lost its spring

                        something doesnt feel right
