i have used fully synthetic gear oil in both my 100 s4 and 200q 'morris' and drain through the bungs in the diff and gearbox bottoms, usually solid , so i used a suction gun to get the old oil out , [of the filler bungs in the side of the gearbox casing] and then re fill, usually most oil manufacturers will recommend a spec.
easy job if you can borrow a ramp as it is better if the car is level.
hope it helps
Still haven't done this but will be doing it this year sometime as low gears are getting a little harder to select when things are cold.
When you talk about the bungs being solid, do you mean you can't get them undone or do you mean after they have been undone there is solid matter over them in the bottom of the oil sumps?
Does anyone have the Audi numbers for the type of Oil I will need please? I don't want to get the wrong type as I did with my power steering fluid
Thanks
