  • Automatic transmission still not running smoth after changing the whole gearbox

    Hey guys, I'm helpless...
I sold my S6 to my Brother in low and the automatic transmission didn't shift smothly any more. Now we bought a used spare one which was garenteed to run ok. now we put it in and it does the thing again. Not shifting right especially from third into fourth.
Anyone have an idea what else it could be...
ask me questions,if you need more information.
    Thanks so far...

Is the oil level correct they are really picky about there oil level and have to be filled to level whilst running.

Sounds like the trans is not getting a correct signal from outside. Engine speed sensor maybe?
When you say not shifting smoothly, what do you mean? You get a shock or hard shift? Or not shift up?

the Oil-Level is fine. That's the first thing I checked and changed the oil. What do you mean by checking while running.

It kinda stutters when taking of out of a stop and does stutter before shifting up. Mainly from Third into fourth. But it does shift.

On my V8 there is no dipstick. there are two holes in the sump one for level and one for filling

The box must be filled to level with the engine running and the box in neutral on a level surface at an oil temp of around 30 degrees c

Then shifted through the gears held in each gear for 10 seconds then re-checked fill if necessary

Other than the level it's got to be the electronics

You'll need to plug in with a scanner of some kind (vag-com etc) and read the transmission temp in order to get the level correct. Part of this procedure is with the engine running.

Without doing it this way, it will never operate correctly.

Check your TPS if it's functional, no any faults on it.If your TPS. Sensor is
getting bad, your trans will shift occasionally unsmoothly.if
everything is just fine.the problem is from the trans itself.80%
is the valve body.valve body is the most fragile part for the autobox.
Definitely,It can take out for cleaning but you need the valve body
gasket.this part is not reusable. it will be break up a hundred
pieces once you poped it up.let me know if you have problems.I'll try to help you.
