  • B4 80 engine mounts torque setting?

    Afternoon all,

Sorry I wasnt really sure where to put this (mods feel free to move).

I'm going to attempt to change the engine mounts on my '93 B4 saloon soon and I wondered if anyone knows the correct torque settings for the nuts?

    Any help/advice would be great!

    Cheers,

    Andy

Sorry, 2.0 16valve ACE engine code.

Its FWD of that makes any difference.

        40 Nm to the bodyshell

35 for the nut on the mount

I've fitted the engine mounts and have so far covered about 70 / 80 miles but there is loads of vibration inside!
I'm sure they can be installed wrong!?

Has anyone else changed their engine mounts and had similar experience??

            Will it settle down?

Have you fitted standard engine mounts? Where did you get them from?

Disturbed anything else to get access?

As far as i know they are just standard ones, didnt ask for any upgraded ones - didnt think there would be anything other than standard tbh. A mechanic mate got them for me, can't remember where they are from, but i'll check tonight. Did need to move anything really to get access. Just jacked the car up and then supported the engine.
