    Transmission engagement knocks

    Hi Guys!

I've just recollected some money to continue the restoration of my S2.

My unit has a problem when changing all the gears. It seems like there is a little shift when you release the clutch. It produces a knock that I can feel at the front of the car, from the transmission box. Also, it makes the gearshift move a lot.

If you change the clutch slowly or smoothly, it doesn't happen or only a little. When you release the power or give all the power, it happens without touching the gearshift, so it's something between the engine and the gearbox. The front differential, maybe?

All liquids are changed; the silentblocks from engine and gearbox, transmission, and rear trans revised and changed too.

I don't know if it's some trouble with the clutch, the synchronizer ring, the front differential or what.

Thanks for any suggestion or help!!

Have you checked the front mount that is above the intercooler? Also could be worn gear linkage if bit of trouble getting into gear

Yes, and silent blocks are changed. Next weeks I will change suspension so it would be good opportunity to recheck it again.

Have some schema or pic about these parts? I want to change clutch someday and open the gearbox too...

      Thanks!!
