    s6 auto box issues

hi everybody my 1994 s6 2.2t autobox is playing up,it will drive in reverse only,no forward drive, looks like my transcooler failed filling cooling system with atf,i drained the box(not much fluid left)removed the pan no real deposits or gunk on the magnet, filter seems ok,cleaned pan and refitted with fresh fluid etc, still no forward drive ,slight move forwards if revved but not enough to drive, whats the best things to check? and whats the correct way to fill/level off auto fluid? i bought the car with this problem and only cost me £180,so if i cant fix it,i will either break it or go the o1e manual box route, any help would be great,

Lol exactly what i thought,i have an autobox here i took off someones car a few weeks back with a faulty multifunction switch, dont think the owner would want much for it(if anything),if it isnt gone soon im gonna scrap it.although the 01e conversion makes the most sense.

its an avant bit tired etc but well worth the money think a 01e conversion makes the most sense, just need to find a suitable donor car for box shafts pedal box etc anyone done this before?

Conversion to manual will save you from lots of trouble. You will be able to get a power upgrade also with manual box.
Needed:box with clutch, pedals(have to remove dash),rear dif, front driveshafts, propshaft, gear linkage and a little mod to fit on your chasis.
And a jumper in autobox loom to think it is always in n(i think i remember ok,i think it starts in n also not only in p,but if you want i can ceck and send you conector wiring diagram).Or get manual soft or manual ecu.

It's from a late s4,no difference really apart from s6 ones don't have a dipstick tube.just remembered I also have one that was rebuilt at a cost of 2k about 3 years back, still in the car and receipts are in glovebox.i have to say though that a manual conversion is the way to go albeit a big job.c5 parts are no use whatsoever btw

you will need to remove the metal spacer from the end of the crankshaft if you're going to convert to manual box.
it's best upgraded on my car ever!
one of a few I5 from Asia.
