It was the metel framwork that the pedals attach to that broke on mine, not the pedal itself.
we welded it up on the car.Not for the faint harted.

Agreed , and it would be pretty obvious if the pedal box broke correct? Mine seems in tact and all

I have a spec stage 5+ clutch with a oem Audi throw out bearing and put around 450 miles on it no problem (car sat for the past year also don't know if this has anything to do with it ) and all of a sudden on the highway pedal went to the floor and like I said couldn't engage into any gear :/ let me know your thought on what it is I'm pretty sure it's the throw out bearing , and if it is , is there a performance upgrade for the throw out bearing ? Thank in advance guys
When I rebuilt my car I fitted a OEM bearing that failed with in a 2000 km that was with a 600nm clutch IMG_0906.JPG

What alternative did you now take after that bearing failed ?

You sure that was an OEM throw-out/clutch release bearing from an Audi dealer? Not saying it wasn't but in my 14 plus years on UrS forums, there have been very few (if any) problems with throw-out bearing failures with OE bearings.

just installed a new slave cylinder and master cylinder (since i experienced my pedal going to the floor while driving), after the install tonight I tried bleeding the clutch by pressing the pedal holding it and then opening the bleed screw, and after I also bleed fluid though the bleed screw up into the reservoir. My problem that I have is the pedal wont come up by its self, (sometimes will slightly), and i cant push the clutch down all the way, its short 3-4 inches before it would hit the floor, also seems not to been bled all the way,(if im bleeding it and i open the bleed screw it will go to the floor then, but if all lines are closed it wont), my concern is why it cant be pressed all the way to the floor, seems like something is stopping it. (i measured the master cylinder length to 109.5mm like in one of the posts as recommended.
So before I break anything could anyone help me with this, anyone run into this problem? could it be with the slave install? (everything seemed to go smoothly) thanks in advance everyone
so tonight i pulled and tried to bleed my clutch 2 times pulling the slave putting it back in, since the pedal still was short 2in from bottoming out so i thought the slave must have been stuck, pulled it and nothing. So then i decided to take a mirror into the slave hole to see if i saw anything, and here is what i saw...... correct me if im wrong but looks like the through out bearing is shot, which may be my reason why the clutch was having problems going all the way down.

Now I am wondering what may have cause this I am running a spec stage 5+ clutch/pressure plate. Do you think from the clamping pressure it trashing the bearing?

any ideas on a replacement bearing? is there a such thing as strong than oem? (anyone know of anything out there?) or what are the high hp guys with heavy pressure plates like this using?
