gearbox/transmission code from sticker?

rear diff code is AXM

is this correct?

anyone got a good gear ratio spreadsheet?

oh, and what gearbox is it, i.e 01e/016 etc

hmmm, gearbox could be AXM. Rear diff AZD. Obviously both 37/9
What's your engine code? I'm guessing, it's 16v quattro, so it could be 6A, based on etka and VIN on the sticker.

8C20B5 = Audi 80 quattro 16V 101 kW 137 HP 4 cyl 6A engine with AXM 5 spd transmission and AZD rear diff. What confuses me is the NA181nnn. N = 1992 A = Ingolstadt but 8C = B4 which I thought didn't show up until the 1993 model year.

AXM = 01A300032HX, 5 spd manual with transfer box and Torsen diff. 37/9 (Crown/pinion) 4.11:1

AZD = 01H500040A, rear axle differential with differential lock. 37/9 (Crown/pinion) 4.11:1

If so did the B4 80 quattro 16vs get 4.11 drivelelines like the S2 instead of the 3.89 the v6s etc got?

and yes it has these g/boxes/diff and like i said the car goes like a fat bird into a cake shop lol

Sleeper: Can you post a better photo of the build sticker or tell us what the first code is, e.g. X0A? or ??. My guess is it will come back as being a trial or pilot car. It is the only thing that makes sense as an "N" = 1992 and 8C = B4.

Nice photo. Wait! That is mine from a VIN decoding post.

The code that I asking you for is what is in the "X0A" position of the 6 x 5 code block. (upper left corner of the code block). My guess is yours is "X9X". Prove me wrong.

Interesting, I guess as its an early car it got the ABS off same as a 3B S2.

I had a 1992 80 quattro 16v, diff lock as all b3/b4 quattro and ABS switch.

Its currently for sale for £250 with a blown engine! So tempted if I had space.
