    Driveshaft lock pin

Is there a locking pin in the front driveshaft? I have slight play in the o/s/f driveshaft and there is no play in the n/s. Is this due to a clip or pin missing?

    Need help

Not sure if S2 is different from typ85, but mine was loose recently. There is a bolt that goes through the centre of the driveshaft holding it into the gearbox. Mine had come completely undone.
      Hope this helps?

I was wondering how they are connected to the gearbox, mine is making all sorts of strange noises from below the front passenger footwell. Either that or a collapsed bearing

There is a cup washer with the outer cv joint but no washer with the inner cv joint or the flange shaft (atleast MY92 and up, older one's could be different). The flange shaft is attached to the the gearbox either with a center bolt or with a spring ring. According to my akte CGR-box has a center bolt, others have a spring ring at the inner end of the flange shaft.
