I'd like to know what clutch people are running with their high HP engines.
And the first hand long term reliability experiences.
Thanks
Jeffry
Hi,
I'm not at the 1000hp range (me car is 600+) but had many issues with clutch and decide to go with Tilton 7,25' triple Sinter/Metal disc clutch. They use them in NASCAR.
So it is with hardest diaphragm - support 1200nm+. Not any slipped or sliding.
But - big game to suit it in the g.box....need some changes in the gearbox bell, throw out bearing need changes, the flywheel needs....
And the big minus is - this kind of clutches are ON/OFF - not (or very hard) for street usage. Need practice. But You will forgot about sliding clutch when boost come in .
