Clutch - is it possible to change the biting point ?

As per title, the reason I ask is that my ABY with 3b flywheel (oem spacer deleted), south bend clutch, bites very late when the clutch pedal is let out.

I would like to be able to make a change to the car to make the clutch engage soon after the clutch pedal is let out, rather at the start of the last third of the pedal travel.

Any input would be of assistance.

    Many thanks.

Is that the only drawback when switching from DMF to SMF?

I drive a lot of different cars at work, when switching to the S2 from tiny little 107s, Kias and such it's a big difference.

Maybe a smaller diameter clutch master cylinder might help with that? Sounds like there is a lot of throw in the setup if the clutch isn't worn

About every Audi I've driven has this, clutch engages high up in the throw. Don't remember how the 40000CS feels, but it's not really important on it because it's got a sintered friction plate so I don't have much to slip on. But a S2 I drove some years ago was lik this, as a couple of A4s and even my S4.

My clutch bites really high up on the peddle. I'd guess you only have to depress the peddle an inch to get it too disengage. It would be nice to have it bite a bit lower after more peddle travel. If there is adjustment in the push rod that might help a bit.

It's a simple adjustment on the MC linkage. Shorten the linkage to drop the pedal down. That said, the clutch will still bite at the same point of the hydraulic actuation but will be more controllable, as it's lower.

Just had a new Clutch on my ABY and it bites pretty low down, I'd say about the first quarter when releasing pedal, just about right I think.

Has anybody experimented with a longer rod between the slave cyl and release fork, i suspect that may be the answer to Davids problem.

same here ABY with SM fidanza flywheel and 3b clutch (clutchnet red) - bites very near the top, i'd say the last 3rd of travel.
Tried lengthening the slave pushrod but had trouble with the pedal sticking so left it as it was.
