Gearbox input shaft seal

Can the input shaft seal be removed and replaced easily enough without pulling the box apart? Any special tools that help with the job?

you can screw a self tapper into the metal part of the seal and use a slide hammer to pull it out

Slide hammer is what I was thinking as well, cheers mate
