3B SRE pressure plate with stock friction plate?

I remember someone mentioning this as an option (prj?).

I'm looking at clutch options for chipped RS2 and as my stock 3B clutch is holding at the mo, I was thinking of this as a budget way of getting some headroom at half the cost. Thinking is that it'll be more than enough for a stock engine (so no rods or fancy business...), given that the current Audi branded LUK is holding its own.

    Thoughts?

The SRE pressure plate will clamp your standard friction plate nicely. You won't be able to drop the clutch at 6K and have it bite hard but it will more than hold up to RS2 power levels. Get your standard friction plate re-lined and you're good to go!

Current one is less than 10k old, so can just reuse it Cool, would be good to press your clutch and see what the weight is like. Launches break things

If you scroll down this sort of related thread it seems to suggest an alternative OE clutch plate that might be suitable subject to cost! At least that what I deduced. Stand to be corrected!

3B flywheel, so ADU/ABY clutch is not an option unfortunately.

For 420 euro, I can get an SRE pressure plate and so if I change the engine again for more power, I can just fit an SRE or other friction plate to complete the transformation.

I've still got a Sachs pressure plate laying around ready to install one day, but as for now an OEM RS2 (but only 15.000km old) clutch kit is coping
fine with my K26/27 setup. It takes launch control without a problem, but when shifting to 2nd then it does take a very slight slip. It's on the edge for that stuff

Found these guys through eBay. Clutch kit is sub 550 euros.

                    Anyone used them?

I have pp SRE 07 for 7A and 6 puck rs2 clutch discs from them . Don't have the guts to launch it yet I have donne only 500 miles since it was fitted. They are very good quality for sure.

If you have some German language knowledge you can try. After my experience with SouthBend clutches I ve decided to go with this setup after a fair bit of research . I hope to be what I need in the end. Time will tell
