    Beware of GKN CV-boots!

Ok.. Two days ago I discovered that a front outer CV-boot was bad. Luckily the grease that had leaked out was still fresh.
But I think the worst thing in my situation is that the "old boot" only lasted three years and that the outer boot on the other side(also three years old) is going to split very soon because it has a lot of deep cracks
These three year old boots are GKN 26094 and they are quite thick like the OEM ones.

Yesterday i bought a new CV boot kit. Unfortunately my parts guy only had GKN so I had to take the chance and hope that the quality has improved.

Does anyone know who makes the VAG CV boots? I'm afraid it's GKN
Does anyone know what boots that lasts? (i'm thinking 8-10+ years or so)

VAG use gkn. Trust me they last lots longer than the 10 quid jobs on hard driven cars.

Are they genuine and not some counterfit Chinese ones? I see a lot of fakes roaming around and those do not last indeed...

the only experience i have ever had with the GKN ones is the straps are incredibly difficult to crush up even with the correct tool. they must make them out of super steel>>>>

I doubt they were genuine if they are fooked already. GKN is high quality OEM gear
