On the V6 coupe quattro the gear changeing is soft like knife in the butter. The S2 requires quite a bit more power to shift between gears. I may fantasize but its like its hetting harder month by month. Or is it my right arm getting weaker??? Could it be a clutch weakness?

Definately a good idea to change the gear oil.
Don't be tempted to use too thin an oil, some of them dont protect the gears/bearings well enough and can make the gear change worse!. Best sticking to the original spec.
