You'll not get much change from 100kg for a 6 speed...

thanks all its a 016 im sending to namibia , i think the 016 5 speedboxs are around 70kg, 1 less gear , incedently this winter i am hopeing to fit the alloy engine block saving 25kg, as i have 2 spare 01e gearboxs ,one with damaged syncros i was think of stripping the gearbox to a bare box [case] then having a go ar shaving some weight off . -10 kg would be great has anyone every tried this [i know im sad] maybe i could sand back every other webbing /thin . any idears

If I am not in a rush I use a jack to put it up into place. Prefer to keep the gearbox in place as much as possible!
