1995 ABY S2

Rear differential drive shaft oil seals.

I have been given part no 016 409 399 B ; and informed they are NLA.

Its an MOT advisory as " oil leak rear diff area ". I trust these people absolutely; but they were unable to source them immediately. Of course the drain plug would not budge and needs " further attention ". Driveway does not show much loss, but the exhaust and underbody are well coated and it may be the reason the police followed me home not so long ago as I was trailing a smoke screen....." did I realise ? " Um, yes I do use my mirrors !! ( But it has not happened again ).

That site only shows the 016 409 399 B, the smaller right side rear diff output seal (also the front diff drive axle seals), not the larger 017525400A left side oil seal. That said, I know they are available and I think that we (the forum) have had this discussion before (within the last year).
