What box is in a V6 80 coupe quattro

Hi all, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to quattro s so please bear with me.

I'm just trying to find out what box the v6 coupes come with, is it 01e?

Are these fairly strong boxes? Are these also used with the I5 turbos?

I'm just trying to get clear in my head what base car will be best to look at for a project I have in mind.

Fairly strong I suppose but not bulletproof

Its a common gearbox so not hard to find if its knackered. 1990s A4/a6 v6 use the same one

Will and 01a handle moderate power for starters?

01A gearboxes. Relatively weak for really high-torque engines, but significantly higher avaliability and lower price. The only good feature is 3.89 gear ratio on AAH cars.

It all depends on the use. If not used for dragrace it will hold 500hp. I've seen a 600hp car strip 3. gear in trackday use, but it was after a lot of hard track miles

I have the same gearbox in my coupe, but once I will swap the i5 engine I must install a 01e gearbox. In my reserches I saw that 01A can't handle hight powers. There are people that broke the gearbox with v6 engine .....

Is the 01E a straight swap or do you need to change things like prop and drive shafts? Which mounts do you use?

I'm now going to be picking up a 10v quattro not V6 if they are different
