Diff lock switch problem. Please help.

I was swapping around some switches on the dash today ( heated seats, defroster, ect) and then I looked up and noticed the abs light is on and there is no light on diff lock switch. I'm not too sure what happen but I did notice some of the switches were in the wrong connectors so I put them in the right slot. The CEL is now off which is weird cause it was on before for a small issue.

I checked the fuse to abs and it's fine. Is there something behind the dash I may have hit that would have ****ed it up.

Any assistance would be great cause I've left the console in peices until I figure it out.

    Kenny.

    Diff lock 101

This might help. (Maybe - sounds more like you've messed up reconnecting the switches).

With the switch connected I lose my abs and the lights on on the dash, with the diff lock switch dis-connected I get abs and light goes away. I'm pretty sure all the switches in dash are connected right. There all colour coded and I matched them.

Could it be the diff lock switch is toast? Even when it's connected there is no lights on the switch.

I was on QW all last night and spend a lot of time on the diff lock section. I traced all the wires and they all are going to the right spots. Nothing is out of place.

I had the defrost switch working for a few mins then it quit, the heated seats don't work but never have the fogs do work as do the hazards. Is it common to have the switches fail?

Yes it's not uncommon for the switches to give up, I've had to replace the ABS, Headlight height and Difflock switches at some point since having the car.

I think it blew cause I was pulling switches with the car on. Probably just blew the fuse cause that. I'll keep an eye on it all seems good now.
