It's an 01A. You can't build a 6spd from it with the CBL 01E. No point getting your knickers in a twist about codes.

I think it is an O1A but no harm in checking

Confirmed 01A box, will start build with this standard box until I get the motor running and move on to a dog box kit eventually.

              RATIO code

Warning: CBR =3.889 ratio.... same as URQ are you using rear diff from the same car where the tranny come from??? IF NOT... make sure the the rear end( diff) does have the same ratio; more commen with 4,111 ratio.... if not, the car will not be driveable, for long time...

The 6 speed gearbox is out and open and once it has the narrow 1st gear, I think now is the time for an upgrade. The pinion bearing has to be replaced, PN 01E311220A at around 200EU so might as well upgrade the gearbox now to save the work of removing it again.

My wallet is average which is why I am writing this quiz to install the most reasonable option.

Has anyone here used Samsonas Dog kit for 1st two gears but from what I've read here 1st is the weakest link
