    ABC solid flywheel conversion ?

Evening all, I know I've already got a mystery thread going below in this section, but wanted to start a separate thread for this.

Reading through service history, my car has never had a clutch, and therefore id imagine the dual mass hasn't been replaced either.

With my ongoing diff/prop/gearbox "clonk" I'm getting ever closer to swapping the boxes and doing the clutch as I have a spare 01E.

Firstly, is there a solid single mass that would fit the abc ? I've heard of the TDI flywheels fitting with shorter bolts ? And if so what size clutch will I need ?

Secondly, what would people suggest as a budget performance clutch ? I'm not looking for 6puc paddle clutches or anything, just a decent and fairly well priced uprated clutch ?

    Any help really appreciated,

    Sam

      Will I still be able to use a V6 clutch ? Or will I need a 5pot one ?

You will need to use the 5cyl one as the v6 one is for a dual mass flywheel. A 7a clutch will be fine

Is there anything else I will need for this ? Shorter flywheel bolts ? Different pilot bearing ? Different release bearing ? ... I will be looking at doing this very soon and would like to get the ball rolling and price up

Yes you will need the bolts to suite the flywheel, pilot bearing is the same as is the release bearing, although you will want to fit a new release bearing
