Any BTDT's? My rear diff is engaging randomly, warning light comes on and ABS disengaging (dash light). This isnt just the warning light as the diff actually locks which isnt fun at speed. '95 RS2
SOunds like an intermittent wiring fault - or perhapps a dicky diff controller. When the diff is unlocked, remove the rear seat and check or disconnect all the wiring foing inti the controller.
Controller easy to spot as its got black control hoses - one with a blue tracer - one with yellow.
Check integroty of all the plumbing under the seat - incase there is a leak...
when i push my diff button,my abs dosn´t turn off,the diff works have tried it,is this normal cause i have always heard that it´s ,it´s got to turn off when the diff is turn on,but the rest is okey.the car is a 1993 avant (aby engine)

It is my understanding that ABS disengages when diff locks are applied and according to the wiring diagram for the RR (same as S2 setup I assume) the rear diff switch disables the ABS . I could be wrong.. it has happened many times before.
Does your ABS light come on when ign is on / engine not running?
Maybe it is just that you have a bad diff lock switch. I just had a similar issue on a US Coupe whereby, the diff was working but I could not lock it. Problem was a corroded switch. You may want to remove your switch and clean the terminals and see if the problem perists. Unfortunately for me, I had to buy a new switch.
Well, I have had a look, control unit seems to make relevant noises when switch engaged/disengaged. Not sure exactly how these work but I assume there is a vacuum line or accumulator or something somewhere? Sorry , but I only normally do stuff at the front end of the car !!
my abs is working normal, the light goes out when car is turned on,and the diff works tried to turn(in a parking lot) when it´s turn on it makes this clocking noise when turning.

Is it possible to keep the diff locked at all speeds for DRIFTING
It is not so good for the diff life but you can do this! Simple put a switch on the Tacho signal wire! It is the whte blue (in most cars) that goes under the seat on the Diff controller!
@RIX
Maybe your diff is not locking at all! Had a vacuum line with many holes on my car! So when pushing the button the orange triagle lamp switched on but the diff was not locking and the ABS was not disengaging! I repaired the line and everything now is ok!
When the diff is locked and you come on a tight turn with 20 km/h then the back of the car is rumbling and humping!

Check these recent threads out, it may have something to do with a faulty one way valve for the diff lock...maybe.
Similar faults seem to crop up with a number of people at the same time, perhaps certain production runs of particular parts all fail at the same time.
If that is the case at least it would make diagnosing certain problems slightly more straight forward.
i have a similar problem the car has the abs light on all the time and no anti lock?
when i engage the diff lock button on turning corners i get alot of chirping from the back wheels i looked and the valve switch on the rear box is engaging and disengaging as it should.
Could the rear box need refilled with transmission fluid???
