  • my solution for heavy clutch pedal

like so many others here on the forum I drive with a heavy clutch pedal caused by the sachs sport clutch i mounted
so this is my solution to make the pedal lighter
i found out that some cars use a litte vacuumbooster on the mastercilinder so i bought one on ebay compleet (see picture)
i removed the origional mastercilinder from the firewall and made a custom bracket for the booster(this one came from a mitsubishi gto) and adapt the vacuumtube that goes to the brakebooster
to make a long story short, it did not work well because the mastercilinder
had a diameter of 16mm while the origionele audi mastercilinder 19mm was So too little oil transfer
now i still use the gto vacuumbooster and have put a nissan patrol mastercilinder with diameter 22mm on it with a custom adapterflange
atlast everything works great now and it's fun to drive with this improvement
here some pictures of the rebuild mastercilinder 16mm
the pictures from the final result comes later

It's so hard you have to use both legs to press the clutch pedal?

Well done Nick, nice mod and seems like a tight fit.

BTW, most Nissan Patrols (Y60 after facelift and Y61) come with a clutch master cylinder that already has a vacuum booster. Isn't it easier to use both Patrol parts, not one from Mitsubishi, the other one from Patrol? The patrol servo is pretty small, I guess the same size as the GTO unit, so for someone wanting to do the mod it'll be probably easier to snatch the whole unit from a Patrol

i know that some nissan patrol have a vacuumbooster with clutch master cilinder but i bought first the mitsubishi gto vacuumbooster and made already a bracket for it so
I wanted to continue using it
