  • hard vibration from rear diff

The original rear diff from my S2 avant started to develop a loud vibration which was really noticeable at 80km/h and at around 120km/h it started to get scary. It sounded/felt a bit like two really bad rear wheel wheel-bearings.
I exchanged it with a S4 B5 diff and the vibration was gone.

So i took the old diff apart but no bad bearings or so. Only thing i fund was one of the diff bearings was loose on the diff. I thought the bearings are supposed to by pressed on?

Anyone know if this is bad? Are there more people with this problem?

Do you also have solid rear sub-frame mounts? And I'm glad the vibration was gone after replacing the diff but i still like to fix my old diff as it has the diff lock option.

I thought vibrations will increase with poly mount?
