I dropped the gearbox oil out my RS2 yesterday afternoon and have left the car set dead level on packing under the wheels overnight to make sure as much can drain out as is going to.
I take it I now refill until the oil is level with the bottom of the filler plug hole as per the norm with most cars? I only ask as I recall some VAG gearbox's are filled to within 5 mm of the fill hole as opposed to level or in some cases the car has to be on certain angle.
Yes, I have the filler plug undo, the gearbox plugs all came undone using 3/8's drive stuff.
However the drain plug on the rear diff has claimed a couple of 1/2" socket adaptors already, I have the the filler plug free, that didn't fight too hard. Going to have to go for some heat and shock to get this mother to free off!
Am refilling both with the correct genuine VAG oils.
Are there any other tricks I'm missing when it come to changing the oil in these units?
