    Transmission backlash?

How much transmission backlash is normal? When I lift my foot up on the clutch there's a definitive clunk as the 'slack' if you like is taken up, is there anything can do about this? I can move the propshaft under the car left to right a bit either direction.. Just curious to know how much is normal?

That is normal, check your engine, gearbox and diff mounts. I would go for polybushed, OEM is ok but still a little backlash. Also you can fix up a nice front snub mount as per Rusty on here and the rear diff to subframe bush will most likely be shot

Thanks I'll have a look into front snub mount, I've just rebuilt both subframes with new poly bush rear diff mounts and new oem Engine and gearbox mounts
